Unfortunately, the Acoustic Story Time Canada event scheduled to feature Jason Gray, Chris Cleveland, Holly Brand, and Will Walker has been CANCELLED.

We’re grateful to the artists and partners who were preparing to bring this meaningful evening of music, storytelling, and hope to our community. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to move forward with the event at this time.

Acoustic Story Time is designed to create an easy on-ramp for the church and the community – an intimate evening where songs and honest stories point people to hope in Jesus.
It’s not just a concert. It’s a space where people who are tired, curious, hurting, or far from faith can come as they are, and where the Church can offer a warm, welcoming room for God to meet them through testimony, laughter, and real-life redemption.
And in partnership with Fourth In The Fire and friends, the night also includes an opportunity for people to respond in a practical way by sponsoring a child through Compassion – turning inspiration into impact.

Hope is Just a Song Away

I was born into a hard home. My mother drank and left husbands for the next boyfriend she met in a bar. We moved constantly. These new men would beat her, and she kept chasing the next one who might love her—all while dragging me along as a young girl. When I was four, a neighbour invited us to an Easter Sunday service. That day at church, I was given a chocolate Easter egg and a colouring picture of Jesus’ face. I kept that picture, and when I’d hide in the closet to escape the violence, I would talk to it—not realizing I was actually praying. God stayed with me throughout a harsh life with an atheist mother. She was angry that God never loved her and wouldn’t allow anything Christian in our home. But I would quietly sneak out of bed and turn on the TV to watch Billy Graham’s messages of hope and love. Even at a young age, I was drawn into God's love. At 14, I started going to church on my own and was baptized. I've spent my life seeking God, raising my children to love the Lord, and building a happy home with a wonderful husband. My mother is now 83—a hardened atheist filled with hate. She’s had the chance to accept Christ, but has openly said she’s fine going to hell. Still, I believe the prayers of my grandmothers, who were both Christians, helped lead me to salvation. My father once encountered Jesus in a white light—others saw the light around him too—but he still struggles, searching for faith and not finding God. I’m thankful every day that Christ came to me so young. He saved me, guided me, and held me through a hard life. Mercy upon mercy.

We lost my sister about 12 years ago now and there was a song that just came on the radio and it was just hit me. Praise the Lord, Oh my soul. And then the ending there where it says that, you know, “when my time has come, still my soul will be praising.” And my sister was a newly convert. And I know where she is because, you know, of her aversion to Christ and how she, you know, asked for forgiveness and--and God came into her heart, and it was very evident. And I know that, you know, she is with the Lord right now and someday I'll see her again. And that song was just so, so encouraging to my soul. So that was wonderful.

Kids go to Catholic High School and, you know, first year my daughter entered, she came from a public school into the Catholic system and she was honestly in her case, she would get on the bus and she was bullied every day. Someone who was in grade 10 and it was, it was awful. It was a challenging time. And, you know, I taught my, my son. He's 13 now, Grade 8. You know, last year he had a horrible experience that he kept to himself and he was being bullied. So you know, I I feel for this child and my heart just ugh. And I know, like the radio station is so impactful, if that is pouring into that child, then that's just an amazing thing that God is using in the times in this world when things are just so hard. Pours into that. So if we could up our giving by $10 a month, I just feel that just something we can make work, even though things are hard and I love this radio station. Our--like I said, our kids listen to it. Our teenagers, all teenagers, and they all listen to it and it's, it's impactful and even on our walk last night, me and my one daughter, she she brought the Earpods along and we each put one in our ear. We were listening as we were out on our on our walk last night. Right. And it it's moving in their lives. It moves in our lives. And I just want to keep that going for everybody out there.
