Strength in the Everyday

As the world’s top athletes give it their all at the Winter Olympic Games in Milano Cortina, I find myself thinking about a song by I AM THEY that’s been stuck in my head:

There’s no heart You can’t rescue
No war You can’t win
No story so over, it can’t start again
No pain You won’t use
No wall You won’t break through
It might be too much for me
But there is no impossible with You

Not everyone will reach Olympic-level success, but we can all experience God’s strength in our everyday lives. These lyrics remind me that we don’t have to rely on our ability alone. God can carry us, guide us, and help us do more than we thought possible.

For pop worship band I AM THEY, trusting in God’s faithfulness has been a journey shaped by change and renewal. After seasons of transition and uncertainty, they found encouragement in Hebrews 10:23: “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.”

Now made up of Matt Hein (vocals, guitar), Abbie Parker (vocals), Brandon Chase (vocals, guitar), Justin Shinn (keys), and Nicole Hickman (drums), the band channels both past challenges and present joy into their third album, Faithful God. More than a collection of songs, it reflects promises remembered and hope for what’s ahead. The album includes “No Impossible With You,” a song that reminds us that even when hope feels distant, God hasn’t let go.

It Might Be Too Much for Me

When I first heard these lyrics, they almost sound a little too confident. Really?

There’s no heart You can’t rescue
No war You can’t win
No story so over, it can’t start again
No pain You won’t use
No wall You won’t break through
It might be too much for me
But there is no impossible with You

But the more I sit with it, the more I realize it’s not about feeling strong all the time. It’s more about remembering where strength actually comes from.

It makes me think of Philippians 4:13:

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

For me, that verse isn’t about accomplishing huge goals or always getting things right. It’s more about the everyday moments—when life feels heavy, when I’m tired, or when I don’t feel like I have much left to give.

It’s like a quiet reminder: I don’t have to do everything on my own.

Watching athletes train for something like the Olympics is impressive, because you know their strength didn’t just happen overnight. It took time, hard work, and a lot of repetition. I think faith grows in the same way.

It’s not usually one big breakthrough moment. It’s built slowly through prayer, worship, small choices, and learning to trust God one step at a time - day by day.

Sometimes I don’t realize how much He’s been carrying me until I look back and think, I couldn’t have done that without Him. And that’s something I’m deeply grateful for.

God gives strength.

And I find comfort in that.

There are days when I’m worn out and don’t feel strong at all—days when strength looks like getting through the day with patience, or choosing peace instead of spiraling. These aren’t the kind of “wins” people celebrate, but they still matter.

And maybe that’s what I love about this song, because it reminds me that God’s strength isn’t just for big, dramatic moments. It’s for real life.

There Is No Impossible With You

To me, “no impossible” doesn’t mean life will always be smooth or that everything will go according to plan. But it does remind me that no situation is too far gone for God to work in.

Sometimes the “impossible” thing isn’t a miracle. It’s having hope again. Or forgiving someone. Or taking the next step when I don’t know what’s ahead.

I might not be training for Milano Cortina, but I’m still living my own day-to-day race. And I need the reminder that I don’t have to do it alone.

Let’s Listen to the Music Together

As we continue this Music Lyrics Series, I want to take time to really pay attention to the words we sing along to on UCB Radio, because sometimes they say what we need to hear.

Even in the ordinary moments, God is still working, and He’s still giving strength by giving us the right song at the right time.
